Laptops have a built-in mouse called a touchpad or touchpad. These touch panels allow you to interact with the Windows 10 operating system in multiple ways, such as being able to slide a window up or down using two fingers. The problem is that for certain users this particular function does not work. However, there are several ways to solve this problem.

It should be noted that there are different types of Touchpad or Touch Panels, specifically they can be grouped into 2: simple Touch Panels or precision Touch Panels. These seconds offer a wide range of gestures that allow actions to be carried out using one or more fingers.
This is where we find the main limitation for using scrolling by dragging two fingers on the Touch panel. This gesture cannot be used unless the Touchpad is precision. Therefore this tutorial is focused for all those users who have a laptop with a precision touch panel and therefore it is compatible with this function.
That said, below we want to show you step by step how to solve the errors in Windows 10 that prevent you from using the Drag function with two fingers to scroll on your integrated Touch Panel:
Check that the Drag with two fingers to scroll function is activated in Windows 10.
1. Open the application Setting Windows 10
2. Once here, go to Touch Panel Devices
3. In the main part of the window you will have to check that the message is displayed: Your PC has a precision touch panel.
4. If this is the case, you must also activate the switch: Touch panel
5. And that the function is also marked: Leave the touchpad activated when a mouse is connected.
6. Now you will have to scroll down, until you locate the section: Pan and Zoom.
7. Under this section make sure to check the option: Drag with two fingers to scroll.
8. You can also set the direction in which the page will scroll when you slide your two fingers across the touch panel.
9. Just below the activation box for this function, you will find a drop-down menu with the name: Scroll direction.
10. Here you can choose between two options:
- Downward movement moves upward: This movement is as if you were controlling the scroll bar of the page with your own fingers. When you move your fingers down, the page moves down, just like when you click and hold the scroll bar.
- Downward movement scrolls down: This toward is as if you are physically touching and dragging the page up and down with your fingers.
11. Finally, you only have to close the app Setting and proceed to scroll in a window by dragging two fingers on the Touchpad of your laptop. If this still doesn’t work, you will need to proceed to the next method.
Update or roll back Windows 10 Touch Panel drivers.
1. Go to Device Manager User Interface Devices (HID) HDI Compatible Touch Panel Properties Driver
2. Here you will find the options: Update driver or revert to previous driver.
3. Now check if two-finger scrolling works properly.
If you need more details on how to do this, we recommend that you read the following tutorial: How to update any driver in Windows 10. (Audio, video, wifi drivers …)
Check for software from the computer manufacturer that controls the TouchPad.
If none of the above methods work for you, you may have installed a manufacturer’s program that takes control of the touchpad settings. This software likely has a specific setting for two-finger scrolling.
There is no single way to verify the manufacturer’s software as each one is different. You will be forced to search for the configuration software manually. We recommend that you search using the brand of laptop you use.
If you find a touchpad setup program, see if you can enable two-finger scrolling through it. If not, try updating the program or even uninstalling it to see if that fixes the problem.
