One of the most annoying parts of editing with any browser is the spell checker. I have noticed that the suggestions offered by them are sometimes confusing. For example, a URL is not a misspelling, however the spell checking tool available in Edge or Chrome treats it as such. Microsoft Edge is changing this annoyance by switching from the spell checking system to Windows.

Microsoft Edge or all Chromium browsers support the Windows 10 spell checker. This means that any words or languages added to the Windows 10 custom dictionary will also be available in the browser.
The Windows 10 spell checker is nothing new. The spell checking hints that appear in Microsoft products such as the Word text editor are due to the spell checker in the Windows 10 operating system. The switch to native Windows spell checking offers a variety of benefits, such as support for additional languages, shared custom dictionary and, above all, no attempt to correct URLs or email addresses.
It should be noted that in general, the Microsoft Edge browser enables this option by default, however this spell check can be configured with the desired language. Also, sometimes the function may be deactivated and you don’t know how to activate it again.
With that said, here is how to enable and configure Windows 10 spell checking in Microsoft Edge browser:
How to activate and use the Windows 10 spell checker in the Microsoft Edge web browser
1. Open the Edge browser.
2. Click the icon three points suspensive (upper right)
3. In the drop down menu, select the option: Setting.
4. In the new screen, go to the section Language on the left side of the screen.
5. Here you will have to pay attention to the section Check spelling.
6. Right below the list of languages activated / installed in Windows 10 is displayed.
7. To activate the Spelling checker, you will need to enable the switch next to the desired language.
Note: It should be noted that you can activate more than one language for spell checking.
8. Now the Windows spell checker in Microsoft Edge will be activated. It should be noted that if you want to use the spelling correction of another language not shown, you can add it but from the languages section of the Windows 10 operating system.
9. Go to Windows Settings> Time and Language> Add a preferred language.
10. If the required language pack is not available, Edge will use the default spell checker available for Chromium.
11. Interestingly, this feature is the result of a collaboration between Google and Microsoft engineers on the Chromium project.
That being said, this feature will also be enabled for Chrome or any other browser that is using Chromium.
