Shazam is the most used application for the recognition of songs directly from your mobile, either iPhone or Android. So far this application will only allow to recognize music and songs that were played through a speaker. This app was a revolution for users since everyone had found themselves in the situation of listening to a very cool song and wanting to know its title or singer. Well, Shazam is the solution.

However, over time Shazam has been improving and adding features such as the ability to add all your discovered songs to a list that can later be viewed and played later. But this is not all since now the possibility of recognizing songs played through headphones connected to your own mobile device has just been instilled.
As we have mentioned, until now, Shazam allowed to recognize only the songs that were heard on speakers at a considerable volume since you had to recognize your mobile with Shazan activated so that it could recognize it.
This caused situations such as listening to the radio on your Android phone or iPhone and listening to a song that we like and we would like to identify it. In this case, Shazam did not allow us to identify this song until now since now the service has access to the apps that play songs (through headphones or integrated speakers), including, for example, YouTube.
All this means that if we now listen to a song while viewing a YouTube video, we can recognize it using Shazam whether we use headphones or listen to it through the integrated speaker of your mobile device.
Therefore, in the new update of Shazam it allows you to recognize songs or music from other applications installed on your mobile phone. Now you can not only recognize the songs played by the speakers of other devices, but also the songs and music played by the applications of your own mobile device.
That said, below we show you step by step how to use Shazam’s new Pop-Up function that allows you to recognize songs played on your own mobile phone even if you are listening to it through your headphones:
How to use Shazam’s new Pop-Up feature to recognize songs played on your mobile.
– The first thing you will have to do is update your Shazam application to the latest version already available.
– Open the Shazam app and when the main screen is displayed, swipe it from left to right.
– This will take you to your list of songs already recognized by Shazam. Here you will have to click on the gear-shaped icon to access the app’s settings.
– Scroll down until you find the option: Shazam Pop-up
– Activate the option by simply clicking on the switch but not before accepting the necessary permissions. In this case: Allow Shazam to be displayed on top of other applications.
-Once you have given the necessary permissions, the Shazam Pop-up option will be activated and ready to be used.
Now you will have to open another app such as YouTube and reproduce any song or video that includes a song. When that happens, the Shazam icon will be displayed on which we will have to press so that the app tries to recognize the song that is playing.
Important note: To work properly, your mobile phone must have a certain volume. As mentioned above, Shazam works both with headphones connected and playback through the mobile device’s built-in speaker.
Undoubtedly this function was highly anticipated by all users and has finally been included in the latest Shazam update, however iOS device users will still have to wait to enjoy it since at the moment it is only available for Android devices.
