For this, the Mountain View company has launched the new extension Password Checkup which will check the security of your credentials and will alert you if any of them have been stolen and used by third parties.
The Password Checkup app will check your credentials against a database of more than 4 Billion users and Passwords that have been hacked by third parties. As is evident, the first thing will be to install the official extension Password Checkup in your browser Google Chrome. You can do this from the following link: download and install the official Google Password Checkup extension.
From the moment the app is installed in the browser, you will see a green icon in the upper right corner of Google Chrome, along with the rest of the installed extensions. As long as the icon remains green, there will be no problem, it means that the credentials used on the website you are on are not among those that have suffered an attack.
On the contrary, if the username and / or password is among those obtained by the hackers, the icon will be shown in red next to a message in which you will be asked to change your password. It is in this case that you will have to change the password of the Web service you are in so that once the change is made you can check how the extension icon turns green indicating that your credentials are now secure.
