Fortunately, WhatsApp gives its users full control over the information stored on their device specifically for each chat. This means that any user will be able to know in a specific way the exact size that certain data occupy, such as the size occupied by the videos of a specific WhatsApp chat.
Along with this information, you can also delete said specific data from a WhatsApp chat, keeping the other types of data. In this way you can, for example, delete only the photos of a specific WhatsApp chat and keep the messages, videos, etc.

– Open the WhatsApp app and once its interface is displayed, you will have to click on the “Settings” option (located in the lower right corner of the screen).
– In this screen within the configuration you will have to select the option: Data and storage. This will take you to a new screen where you will have to scroll down until you find the option: “Storage usage”
– When you have clicked on this option, you will have access to a list with all the chats or conversations currently available in your WhatsApp application. Next to each conversation you will find the amount of MB that each chats occupies in the storage of your iPhone or Android.
– Click on any of these conversations to access detailed information on its data. Here, specific information about the size of each of the data types of that WhatsApp chat will be displayed. Among them storage details that you can know are: Text, Contacts, Locations, Photos, Gif, Videos, Voice messages, Documents and Stickers. Each of them with the amount of space it occupies on your mobile device.
– On this screen you will have to click on the Manage button … This will allow you to mark or unmark the data you want to delete in said conversation. In this way you can decide, for example, to keep all the data and only delete the GIFs that said chat has.
– To proceed with the elimination of the desired data from this specific conversation, you must click on the option: Empty. This will bring up a menu in which you will have to confirm the deletion of the selected data by clicking on the Empty option again.
As we have mentioned using this method, you will only delete the data type specifically selected.
