Security and privacy are increasingly appreciated by users who own mobile devices, laptops or desktop computers. The manufacturer and developers know the demands of users to acquire an increasingly tight control of their data and information. It is due to this need that the WhatsApp app has just incorporated the possibility of blocking the app even if your mobile phone or iPhone is unlocked, so if third parties have access to the interior of your device, they will still not be able to access the contents of your WhatsApp chats.

WhatsApp is an instant messaging service through which we usually have private conversations or even share sensitive information. The application, as a security measure, encrypts the messages sent and received so that their content cannot be intercepted by third parties.
However, this means that the weak point of the service in terms of privacy and security is the terminal of both the sending and receiving user. Due to this aspect, WhatsApp has just introduced a new privacy measure that allows users of its service to block access to its application even if the device is unlocked. This means that the user who is using your mobile device will still have to enter their fingerprint or facial recognition to unlock access to WhatsApp chats.
At the moment the WhatsApp Blocking function is only available for iOS devices, however it will also be available for Android devices shortly. Therefore, if you have an iPhone with WhatsApp, you can configure the app so that it is necessary to enter the Touch ID or Face ID to open WhatsApp and thus access the messages exchanged through chats:
How to block or unblock WhatsApp even when your phone is unlocked.
The first thing we will have to do is make sure that we have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on our device. Once the app is updated, you will have to open WhatsApp for the following line, access the section: Setting.
Once here you will have to go to the Account option. This takes you to a new screen where you will have to go to the Privacy section which allows you to view all the related settings.
Here you will have to scroll down until you find the option: Screen lock on which you must press. This will make you access the specific configuration of that option. Obviously here the first thing we will have to do is activate the option: Require Touch ID / Face ID. This is described as: “If the Touch ID / Face ID function is enabled, you must use it to unblock WhatsApp. Even if WhatsApp is blocked, it will still be possible to reply to messages from notifications. “
Once this function is activated, you will see how a new configuration is visible. Specifically, you can select the time after which the WhatsApp app will be blocked. Possible settings are: Immediately, 1 Minute, After 15 minutes, and After 1 hour.
Once the desired configuration has been selected, all you have to do is close the app and wait for the selected time for the line followed by trying to access the app. Now you will see how WhatsApp is blocked and you cannot access the chats without first using your Touch ID and Face ID to unlock it.
Note: As the WhatsApp Blocking option indicates, if you have the option of direct responses through notifications activated, any user can reply to WhatsApp messages received directly from the Notifications section. Therefore, if you want greater security, we recommend deactivating this function.
