Years ago there was a feeling that Macs and MacBooks were only accessible to upper-middle class people. However, now these Apple devices begin to be more affordable to a greater number of people and therefore enjoy their features but you will also have to deal with problems and possible errors that rarely appear on Mac and MacBook.

One of the practices that can cause problems in electronic devices is the complete drain of the battery. This can cause the device to be unable to restart due to the battery being totally drained and they have no power to boot. This type of problem is also present on Mac and MacBook.
In addition, the problems can be aggravated if even connecting our Mac or MacBook to the charger, the battery does not charge and the equipment cannot be turned on. These problems are related to the complete drain of the battery of our MacOS equipment.
All these errors make your Mac or MacBook unable to boot normally. Fortunately, Apple incorporates in its MacOS computers the possibility of resetting the System Management Controller, also known as SMC. The SMC takes care of the management of low-level settings, such as temperature and battery management.
In this post you will find the solutions to the questions:
- Mac or MacBook won’t boot
- My Mac or MacBook won’t turn on after completely draining the battery.
- My Mac or MacBook is not charging the battery.
- How to restart the SMC of my Mac or MacBook
The way to reset the SMC on Mac will depend on the model you have. So if you have problems starting your Mac or MacBook after having completely drained the battery of your MacOS device, here is how to do it:
Method 1:
Connect your Mac or MacBook to the original charger for at least 30 min.
If you completely drained the battery of your Mac or MacBook and now your computer does not start, it may be because it needs a longer initial charge time until the “computer” can be able to start.
To solve it, you must connect the charger (if it is original) to your Mac or MacBook. Leave it charging for at least 30 min without interacting with the equipment.
During this time, your Mac or MacBook should turn on automatically. If it doesn’t do it on its own, press the power button to see if it starts up.
In case this does not work, we will have to proceed to reset the SMC of our Mac that we show you below.
