Regarding the photos taken with our iPhone or iPad, Apple incorporates an option through which any user can hide photos that they consider sensitive. Actually, all this function does is hide the selected photos from the reel of the Photos app on your iOS device. However, these photos will not be password protected, so any other user who has access to your device can view them just by entering the “Hidden” section of the Photos app.

As we have mentioned, this does not prevent any other user from accessing the Hidden album and viewing the photos saved here. Obviously, to achieve a correct protection of these photos hidden from the eyes of third parties, it will be the access protection by means of a password. In this way, in order to access the hidden photos, you would need to enter a password.
The Photos application does not allow you to add a password to photos, but the Notes application allows you to create password protected notes, and a note can include an image or photo. It is precisely this feature that we can use to password protect any photo or image from our Photos reel on iPhone or iPad.

The first thing you will have to do is open the Photos app and locate the images that you want to hide and password protect. Open said photo and line followed by clicking on the icon Share to automatically open the menu in which you will have to select the option: Copy.
Once the photo is copied to the clipboard of your iOS device, you will have to open the Notes application and create a new note in which you will have to paste the photo just copied. To paste the copied photo you just have to press and hold on any empty place in the note. This will bring up a menu where you can select the option Paste. This will display the image inside the Note.
Once the image is pasted, you should return to the general screen of the Notes app. Here you will have to slide the Note in which you have pasted the photo to the left so that several options are revealed. Among these options you will have to click on the padlock icon. You will need to verify the lock using your password, Touch ID or Face ID. Once you’ve done that, the note and the photo it contains will be locked.
Now will be the time to go back to the Photos application on your device to delete the photo that you have just password protected, because if you don’t, third parties will still have access to said photo from the roll of your iOS device.
If someone has access to your unlocked phone, they will still have to unlock the note with one of the three security options. An unlocked iPhone or iPad does not mean that the notes locked in the Notes app are also unlocked.
Important: The Notes application is capable of saving any photo from your iOS device with a more than decent quality. This trick allows you the most important photos or with sensitive content, hidden and protected by password. However, we do not recommend using this method for those photos that you need in high quality, since this will be partially reduced.
