However now by default, your phone number will be visible to other users. This doesn’t mean that you can’t make it private, as this feature still exists. The problem is that if you had it hidden, but you have updated your Telegram app on Android or iPhone, this number will now be visible unless you hide it manually.
As we have mentioned, Telegram allows you to hide any element of your profile individually and therefore we can still hide our phone number, but we have to do it manually after installing or updating our app. This is necessary even if before updating Telegram you already had your phone number hidden because after this update this setting will change by default.

– Update your Telegram application.
– Open the app and go to Setting.
– Here you will have to select the option: Privacy & Security.
– Under the Privacy section you will find the option: Phone number.
– After clicking on this option, you will have 3 options to configure: Who can see my phone number.
– In our case, to maintain the highest level of privacy, we will have to select the Nobody option.
– From this moment on, other Telegram users will not have access to your phone number, only to the messages exchanged through chat.
