Regardless of the device that we are using, True Tone is designed to capture the light levels and the temperature of the environment through the built-in sensors. Thanks to this information, the device will be able to adjust the color and intensity of the screen according to the light and the temperature of the environment in which we find ourselves. Thanks to this function, we will make the colors on the screen appear more natural at the same time that we avoid visual fatigue.
If, for example, we are in direct sunlight, the True Tone function will alter the temperature of the screen to make the colors appear more natural, without them looking artificial or affecting the quality of the display.
Although Apple’s new True Tone function can be very useful to considerably improve the display of your device’s screen, the truth is that for certain users it can be a disadvantage since modifying the real colors of the photograph or whatever we are displaying on the screen. In other words, if you are a photographer and you are viewing or retouching an image, it is recommended that you deactivate the True Tone function, otherwise it is on fictitious and not real colors of the file in which you are working.
That said, below we want to show you how to activate the new TRue Tone function from an iPhone, iPad or MacBook.
How to activate the True tone function on an iPhone or iPad with iOS:
If we have a mobile device, the first thing we will have to do is access the settings application for Line followed by accessing the screen and brightness option.
Once inside the screen of this configuration, you will find the brightness sliding bar at the top. Just below this slider you will find the True Tone option which you must activate by clicking on the switch.
As soon as the switch turns green you will see how the color and temperature of the screen will automatically adjust which confirms the activation of this function.
How to enable True Tone feature on to MacBook Pro:
If you own a MacBook Pro, you can activate True Tone by clicking the bitten apple icon in the upper left corner. When the menu is displayed you must click on the option: System Preferences.
This will give you access to a new window in which you will have to click on the Screens option.
Now you will be redirected to another screen where you will find the True Tone option just below the brightness adjustment slider. Once the function is activated you will notice how the screen of your device will adjust its colors depending on the environment in which you are.
