A few days ago we showed you at Downloadsource.es how to use full screen mode in the Google Chrome Web browser. As we explained earlier, this mode allows users to focus on Web content by hiding the browser interface in a similar way to how reader or reading mode will. The problem is that until now Chrome had not incorporated the reader mode with version 75.

Chrome version 75 incorporates the “Reader” mode, although it is hidden. This reading mode of Google Chrome reduces the content and elements of the web page you are visiting to a minimum so that they are much easier to read. Basically the entire Web will be reduced to text.
The drawback we have mentioned is that by default the reading mode of Google Chrome is deactivated and therefore if we want to use it, we must enable it manually.
Google has been experimenting with this feature on and off on the desktop version of Chrome for several years, but now it’s available on the flags screen. Google may decide in the future to incorporate it by default in the Chrome interface for easier access and ease of use.
Having said that, below we want to show you step by step how to activate and use the reading mode of the Google Chrome browser:
How to activate the Google Chorme Reader Mode.
Before you can use Chrome’s reading mode, you must activate it, for which you will have to follow the following steps:
– Open your Google Chrome web browser
– Click on the three vertical dots icon to display the options menu.
– In the menu, go to: Help> Google Chrome Information.
– On the new screen you will see the current version of your Google Chrome browser. If you still do not have version 75 of Chrome, you must proceed with its installation and restart the browser to confirm the update.
– Once the browser is restarted, you must enter and execute the following address in the URL address bar:
chrome://flags/#enable-reader-mode
– This will show the option of reading mode in which you will have to click on the drop-down menu to select the option: Enable.
– Finally, you only have to restart the Google Chome Web browser by clicking on the blue button.
– After restarting Chrome, the reading mode will be available.
How to use the reading mode in the Google Chrome browser.
Chrome’s Reader mode is very easy to use, once you have activated it in the browser.
– Open the browser to go to the desired website.
– Now you will have to click on the icon with three vertical dots to display the options menu.
– Among the options shown you will find: Convert page.
– After clicking on this option, you will see how the content of the website is reduced to only Text and images, without ads, sidebars, etc.
– If you want to exit the reading mode of the Web page you are visiting, you will only have to click on the Back button in the Chrome window. This will take you to the original web design of the website you are visiting.
