Surely you have noticed that the keyboard of your computer has keys with the signs of multimedia reproduction such as: Play, Pause, Next or Previous. Well, if your keyboard has these keys, now you can control any multimedia content that is playing in your Google Chrome Web browser.
For example, if you are viewing a YouTube video or a song on Spotify, now you can control its playback with the multimedia keys on your computer’s keyboard. However, this is not always to the liking of all users and many are annoyed with this new feature.
Fortunately, the Google Chrome browser allows you to deactivate the control of video or music multimedia playback with the keys on your computer’s keyboard. Here’s how to do this:

– The first thing will be to open the Google Chrome browser to enter and access the following path in the URLs box:
– After pressing the Enter key you will be directed to the Flags section. Here you will have to search for the following term:
hardware-media-key-handling
– Click on the drop-down menu to the right of the option: Hardware Media Key Handling. Here you will have to select the option: Disabled
– Once the option is configured, you will not be able to forget to save the changes made, by clicking on the Blue button: Relaunch Now.
– This will restart the Google Chrome browser to save the changes.
– From this moment on, you will no longer be able to control video or music playback in your Google Chrome browser using the playback keys on your computer’s keyboard.
– Obviously this configuration can be activated again at any time by simply reverting the configuration shown previously.
