Although it is something that a priori can be quite useful, not all users want their files to be downloaded to the Download folder. In general, the Windows 10 download folder is located on the primary disk drive and there are many who prefer that the files downloaded from their Chrome, Firefox or Edge browser, do so on a secondary hard drive.
Another reason to change the default download folder in the Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox browser is to keep the files downloaded from each of the browsers separate. How to change the file download folder from Google Chrome.
1. Open the Chrome browser
2. Click the icon with three horizontal lines.
3. Select Settings from the menu.
4. Scroll down on the new screen click on the: Advanced settings
5. Scroll further down to the section Download and click the button: Change location)
6. Now a window opens in which you can choose the folder where you want to save the videos that are downloaded using Chrome from now on.
How to change the file download folder from Microsoft Edge.
1. Open the Edge browser
2. Click the icon three ellipsis (top right)
3. In the menu select the option: Setting
4. Select the Download section from the left side of the screen.
5. Now in the central part of the screen you will have to click on the button: Change location)
6. Finally, in the pop-up window, you will have to select the folder in which you want the files downloaded from the Microsoft Edge browser to be saved now.
How to change the file download folder from Mozilla Firefox.
1. Open the Firefox browser.
2. Click on the icon with three horizontal lines (top right of the interface)
3. In the menu select: Choices
4. Go to the section general.
5. In the middle of the screen scroll down until you find: Files and applications.
6. In saving files in you will have to click on the button: Examine.
7. A pop-up window will open and you will have to select the desired folder in which the files you download from the Mozilla Firefox browser will be downloaded.
