November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

In Downloadsource.es we have already talked about practically all the functions and options that the Gmail email service offers its users. However, we have not yet told you about the possibility of adding links to the signature images of your emails.

include links in the signature image of your gmail emails

Related: How to sign your Gmail emails. (PC and mobile)

Gmail like other storage services, allows us to sign our sent or replied emails. In this way, at the end of the emails we send, the signature you want will be added automatically and even include an image if you wish. These signatures are widely used in corporate or business email accounts.

Surely you have ever received an email in which the name of the company and / or the sender of the same is displayed right at the end of it. In addition, additional information such as links or images of the sender or the company it represents is sometimes displayed as the corporate logo.

However, what very few know is that we can add a link to this image in the signature so that anyone who receives one of our emails can press or click on it to be redirected to our website or any other URL that we include.

Having said this, below we want to show you step by step how to add a link to the signature image of our emails:

How to add a link to the image included in the signature of your Gmail emails.

1. The first thing we will have to do is open the browser on our computer and access Gmail.

2. Once logged into our Gmail account we will have to click on the gear icon in the upper right corner.

3. In the displayed menu, go to: See all settings.

4. Now you will be sent to a new screen where you will have to go to the tab: general.

5. Here you will have to scroll down until you find the section: Firm.

6. Click the button: Create

7. A window will appear in which you will have to provide the identifying name of the firm (this name will not appear in the email)

10. When this image has been added and its size adjusted, you will have to select it which you must do in the same way as you would select text with your mouse cursor.

11. When the image is shown with a blue color you will have to click on the option: add link.

12. This will automatically show a small floating window in which you will have to provide email address or web url you want to link to the image.

13. After clicking on accept, the image of your Gmail email signature will already have the link, however in the configuration screen you will have to scroll to the bottom to save the changes made by clicking on: Save Changes

If you have an image in the signature of your gmail emails you can include a link in it

14. From this moment on when you include your signature in any Gmail email (it will depend on your configuration), the image of your signature will always show the link just linked, that is, anyone who presses or clicks on it will be sent to link provided.

It should be noted that the way to include links in the signature image of your Gmail emails is practically identical to how you can add hyperlinks to any image included in the body of your emails, if you do not know how to do it, we recommend the following post: How to add hyperlinks to Gmail email images.

I forgot my Gmail email address: How to recover it

November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

Any Gmail user can use a recovery email account. In this way, if we forget the password of our Gmail account, we can recover it using another email. The same Gmail account can be configured as a recovery account for many other email accounts. This function can be used to find out any email address that we have forgotten and that is linked to another.

Related: How to change your Gmail, Hotmail and Outlook password.

Let’s say a user has forgotten an email address. However, you know that this email account is linked to another so that if you forget your password, we can easily recover it. Well, if you know the recovery email address, you may know the linked and forgotten address.

Practical example:

– We have an email account that we can call the main one and that is used as a recovery account. (CorreoPrincipal@gmail.com)

– Then we create a second email account (CorreoSecundario@gmail.com) and during the creation of the email, we configure the CorreoPrincipal@gmail.com account as a recovery account.

– I forgot the CorreoSecundario@gmail.com address: Can I retrieve or find out the linked email address?

Well the answer is YES. Using the recovery email account, we can know any other Gmail email account linked to another as a recovery email. In this way we can know all the Gmail email accounts that are linked to another Gmail account used as a recovery account.

In this tutorial we show you how to recover an email address that you have forgotten and that is linked to another Gmail account as a recovery account:

How to recover a forgotten Gmail email address

1. The first thing you will have to do is go to the following URL: https://accounts.google.com/signin/usernamerecovery

2. Once here, you will have to enter the recovery email address, that is, the email that we use to recover the password from the address that we have forgotten.

3. Click the button: Next.

know the gmail addresses associated with a google account

4. In the new screen you will have to enter the name and surname of the Gmail account that we know.

5. Click on the blue button again: Next.

I have forgotten my email address

6. At this point you will have to click the button: Send.

I don't remember the gmail address

7. An email will be sent to your recovery account. You must copy it, paste it in the corresponding box and click next.

I forgot my google account username

8. Now a list will be displayed, not only with the forgotten email account, but also with all the Gmail accounts linked to this email account.

To recover the Gmail email address as shown in this tutorial, you will not need the password of the forgotten account, only access to the recovery Gmail account.

Now when you at least already know the forgotten email address, you can also recover the password in the event that you have forgotten it as well. You can do this from the following link: https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery.

Important Note: This tutorial should not be confused with recovering passwords for a Gmail account. In this post we only show how to know the email addresses linked to a recovery account that is usually the main account of the users.

delete emails from a specific address automatically

November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

The amount of spam and spam that we can receive in our Gmail account can be really overwhelming. In my case, there is nothing more annoying than receiving constant e-mails, coming from the same sender who does not want to read any of their messages. To avoid this type of situation, I asked myself if Gmail allows to automatically delete all emails from a specific sender.

Related: How to silence email notifications from a specific address in Gmail

By default, Gmail doesn’t offer any specific features that allow you to automatically delete emails from a specific sender. However, this does not mean that we cannot carry out this task, what happens is that we will have to use the filters function to achieve it.

Maintaining an orderly inbox is something really complicated, especially if we use our email account to subscribe or create user accounts on different platforms or services. In many cases, this action will give the platform permission to send you informative emails that in most cases you do not want to receive.

As we have mentioned, Gmail allows you to create filters to filter emails from a specific sender and whose messages have a series of criteria specified by you.

With that said, below we want to show you step by step how to automatically delete emails from a specific sender in Gmail:

How to automatically delete emails received from a specific sender in Gmail.

1. Open your web browser and go to Gmail.com

2. Log into your Gmail account.

3. Click the icon in the shape of gear (top right)

4. In the drop-down menu, select the option: See all Settings.

10. To finish, you just have to click on the Blue button: Create Filter.

November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

If you have been a Gmail user and have been doing it for several years, you will have noticed how over the years, the left side menu of the window has been filled with labels, old messages, Hangouts Chats and even the new Google Meet section. Precisely in this tutorial what we show is how to clean this side menu of the Gmail window so that only the sections that you want are displayed and you get rid of everything that is extra.

how to remove or hide Gmail sections and labels including Chat and Meet

Related: How to save attachments from Gmail to Google Drive

The Gmail interface usually shows a large number of options and sections. By default, Google’s email service offers an option to collapse the menu and thus display fewer sections. However, this does not solve the real problem, in addition sections such as Google Meet, will continue to be displayed on the left side of the Gmail window.

If you are overwhelmed by the number of sections and options shown on the left side of Gmail and you want a much more minimalist interface without distracting things, this is the tutorial you were looking for. In this post we will show you:

– How to remove the Google Meet section in Gmail

– How to remove the Chats section from Hangouts in Gmail

– How to remove sections (labels) from the left menu of Gmail.

With that said, here is how to remove sections from the Gmail sidebar:

1. Access Gmail on your computer’s web browser.

2. Log in to your Google account.

3. Click the icon gear.

4. In the drop down menu, select the option: See all settings.

5. Once in the settings screen you must go to the tab: Chat and Meet.

6. Here you will find the section: Meet.

7. In this section you will have to check the option box: Hide the Meet section in the main menu

8. Finally, you only have to click on the button: Save Changes.

9. Restart the Gmail tab and now on the home screen you will see how the Meet section has disappeared from the left side menu of the interface.

how to remove the Google Meet section from the main Gmail menu

3. First we will find the System Tags. In this section, if you want to hide the default Gmail labels that you don’t usually use, you just have to click the hidden option or Show in the column: Show in tag list

Important note: When you hide a tag, it doesn’t disappear completely. If you click on the More option in the left sidebar of Gmail, all the labels you have hidden will be displayed. Therefore, you can hide labels like Drafts, Spam or Trash and you can still access them from the menu using the More option.

how to hide gmail main menu labels

4. The next thing we will do is focus on the section: Categories. Here you can hide the categories individually or the entire section of the left sidebar of Gmail. Here you can show or hide the categories in the tag list or the message list.

5. Finally, we will not find the section Tags. This section contains all the Gmail labels that have been created since you created your gutter. If you no longer use a tag, you can choose to remove it by clicking the “Remove“from the Actions column.

Important note: Even if you delete a tag, it must be clear that the messages with the tag will not be deleted.

6. If there are labels that are used very frequently but that you want to keep, it is best to click on the “button.Hide” or the button “Show if there is unread“.

Note: Again, remember that you can access any of the hidden labels by clicking the More button from the left side menu of the main Gmail interface.

After carrying out this configuration, you will have personalized the left menu of the Gmail interface and you will only show those elements that you consider appropriate or relevant. You can delete practically any item or section that you do not want in Gmail (from the left menu)

How to mute emails from a specific address in Gmail

November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

Gmail is the world’s most popular email service in part because of the sheer number of features and options available to its users. The possibilities are enormous, and due to the enormous number of options many users are simply unaware of them. An example of unknown options is the ability to disable notifications for emails received from a specific email account.

Related: How to automatically forward emails from a specific Gmail address

Gmail has a specific option that allows you to mute emails received within a conversation / thread. That is, you can quickly and easily silence any email received when the sender used the Reply to email option that has previously been sent by you. Obviously, silencing these types of emails will prevent you from being notified when you receive emails in this thread.

However, in the event that you receive a new independent email that does not belong to the silenced thread, you will be notified.

Fortunately, if you receive emails from a specific email address but do not want to receive a notification every time one of their emails reaches your inbox, it is also possible to do it in Gmail although there is no specific function for it. In this case, what we will have to do is use the Gmail filters.

This way you will not be notified when you receive any type of email from a specific email account. However, even if you do not receive notification about the emails received from that specific address; Yes, these emails will be accessible from the inbox of your Gmail account so you can still read them and access their content.

That said, below we show you step by step how to silence notifications in Gmail, emails from a specific email account:

How to mute email notifications from a specific address in Gmail.

1. Open Gmail and access your user account.

  • ‘Skip received (Archive it)’. This will automatically archive the message and you will not receive alerts.
  • However, these messages will not mark as read, so if you want it to be marked as read as well, select the ‘Mark as read’ option.
  • To have these silenced messages fully organized in a folder you must select the option ‘Apply the label’. Click on the drop-down menu where you can choose an already created label or create a new one.

9. Finally, you only have to click on the button ‘Create filter‘

10. From this moment on, emails from the indicated email address will no longer be notified.

automatically forward emails from a specific address

November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

Sometimes (especially in the workplace) we receive emails that are not really for us, but are for another email address. For example, if you work in the sales department, but you receive emails from the technical service department. Now thanks to Gmail you can have all the emails you receive from that email address automatically sent to another specific email address (in this example to the email account of the technical service).

Related: How to combine 2 email accounts (Gmail)

Until now, Gmail allowed to automatically send any email received in your Gmail account, to a second indicated account. However, this option did not offer exceptions, that is to say that literally all received emails will be forwarded to another email account specified by the user. This function is perfect when we go on vacation and we want someone to be able to answer the emails we receive.

Well, now you can specifically indicate the address whose emails will be automatically forwarded to another desired address. For example, in my case I want emails related to Amazon or Ryanair to be automatically forwarded to my partner’s email account since she is the one who manages it. Well now this is possible.

Here’s how to automatically forward received emails from a specific email account using Gmail:

How to automatically forward emails from a specific address.

1. Access your Gmail account and click on the gear icon.

2. In the menu select the option: Setting

3. On the next screen, go to the tab: Forwarding and POP / IMAP mail

4. You will automatically be forwarded to the Gmail configuration screen where you will have to click the button: add a forwarding address.

5. In the new window you will have to enter the email address to which you want the emails to be sent automatically.

how to automatically forward emails received from a specific address

6. Next, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address to which we want to automatically forward messages received from a specific address. This user must confirm that his email account can be configured as a forwarding account.

7. When the confirmation is done; From the email account in which we are configuring the forwarding, you should go to one of the emails from the address whose messages you want to automatically forward to another address.

8. Click the more options button (three dots icon)

9. In the displayed menu you must select the option: Filter messages like these.

10. Now a box will open in which you will have to click on: Create Filter.

Gmail allows you to forward emails from a specific address with Gmail

11. In the list of options you will have to check the box ‘Forward to’ and select the forwarding email that has just been configured and already verified.

12. Click the blue button: Create filter

From this moment on, each time you receive an email from that address, it will be automatically sent to the configured email address. However, as the first user to receive this email, you can also read it and it will continue to appear in your inbox even if it has been automatically sent to another email account.

If for whatever reason you do not want these automatically forwarded emails to appear in your inbox or to be notified when they are received; You can create a new filter in which you make these emails be Archived automatically. This configuration is identical to the one shown in this tutorial, except that instead of checking the option “forward to” you will have to check the option box: Skip Inbox (File it).

Millions of people use the Gmail email service. The use of Gmail by so many people is due to the large number of functions and options that Google puts at the service of users. Despite this, it has not until recently been decided to introduce the ability to share emails as attachments.

Until now this feature was available to paid users who had a G Suite subscription, however this feature is now available to free Gmail users.

Gmail users already have the ability to send emails as attachments in Gmail easily and simply. Google also recognizes that attaching emails makes more sense than forwarding emails separately.

Now you can attach and send emails as attachments in Gmail, without having to forward or download them first. But there are certain things that you should keep in mind before making use of this function since although you can attach as many emails as you want, you will have to use Google Drive to attach files if the total size exceeds the 25 MB limit.

When an email is shared as an attachment, if the recipient clicks on it, the attached email will open in a new window. A security banner will appear at the top of the attached email indicating its status (sent or received).

how to send multiple emails as attachments in gmail

You can send emails as attachments in Gmail using two methods:

Method 1: Forward an email as an attachment

Method 2: Reply with an email attachment

That said, below we show you the two methods that allow you to send emails as an attachment through Gmail:

How to send emails as attachments in Gmail.

Method 1: How to forward an email as an attachment

– Open your computer’s web browser and access your Gmail account.

Alternative: To forward an email as an attachment, you can also right-click on a message or drag and drop the file into the body of your message. This will create a new thread with the emails attached and ready to be sent.

Method 2: How to reply with an email attachment.

– On your computer, access your Gmail account through your Web browser.

– Open the desired email and select the option: Reply

How to disable External Images in Gmail

November 28, 2020 by whyisdown Leave a Comment

As you probably know, the Gmail email service allows you to send and receive images through email messages in two different ways: As an attachment or as part of the email body using a link (Online Image). This last method is used by most marketing companies with the aim of grabbing the user’s attention.

Ask permission for external images to be displayed in Gmail emails

Related: How to combine 2 email accounts (Gmail)

In addition, since these online images that are displayed in the body of the email message include a link, the user can click on the image and be redirected to the website to which the image belongs, through a link (URL) . In fact, newsletters and promotional emails with a high frequency often have images linked to links.

This can have a number of downsides that lead users to want to disable external images in the Gmail app for iPhone or Android. The reasons for wanting to deactivate remote images via URL may be bandwidth consumption, a decrease in the load version, and some mobile devices the message may not be seen correctly, making it difficult to read.

The External Images feature is available in both Gmail for iOS and Android (must be enabled or disabled for individual accounts) and in the web version of Gmail for PC. This means that if you have multiple email accounts added to the Gmail app, you can disable external image uploading for some accounts but allow them to upload automatically for other of these accounts.

Knowing all this, if you decide to disable external images in Gmail applications on Android, iPhone or PC, below we want to show you step by step how to do it:

How to disable external images in Gmail emails (Android or iPhone)

– Before starting the tutorial, you should make sure you are running the latest version of the Gmail application.

– Once updated, open the Gmail application and click on the icon in the form of three horizontal stripes. This will open the navigation menu where you will have to scroll down until you find and select the option: Settings.

stop showing external images in Gmail emails

– In the Settings screen you will have to select the account in which you want to disable external images.

– On the next screen you will have to scroll down until you find the option: Images.

– After selecting this option, you will be sent to a new screen where you will have to select one of the two options:

  • Ask before showing external images.
  • Always show external images.

– In our case we will have to mark the option: Ask before showing external images.

Once the option is selected and the new settings are saved, the external images found in the received emails will no longer be displayed automatically. Instead, you will be asked whether or not you want to show the external images. To show them you will need a manual action.

It should be noted that this setting will apply to all messages that arrive after you have enabled this setting. The emails that have already been downloaded to your device will have already downloaded the images in their messages, so nothing can be done about it.

How to disable external images in Gmail emails (Web / PC)

– In this case you will have to go to the Web: gmail.com

– Here you log in with your account and once the interface is displayed you will have to click on the gear icon in the upper right part of the screen.

– When the menu is displayed you will have to click on the option: Setting

do not automatically show remote images of gmail emails

– Once inside the configuration screen you will have to go to the tab general.

– In this section you will have to look for the Images section. Under it you will have to select the option: Ask before displaying external images – This option also disables dynamic email.

– Finally, you must not forget to click on the button: save changes, so that the new configuration takes effect.

how to prevent the loading of external images in Gmail emails

This feature can also, in some cases, can also be useful for emails that incorporate (pixel) trackers. These trackers tell the sender if the email they sent has been opened or not. Often the tracker is just a pixel-sized image so it will not be seen with the naked eye, however not all trackers are images. On desktops, it’s easy to disable trackers just by using an extension, but on mobile devices, it’s much more difficult since you can’t change how an app works beyond what its developer allows to change.

  • If I migrate one Gmail account to another, will I lose the emails received in the old email account?
  • If I join two accounts, which email address will appear as the sender?
  • Will I receive emails from the old email in the new email inbox?

Well, all these questions and many more are what we will answer in this tutorial. Actually what the indications shown in this Post basically what we show is how to be able to change the Gmail email address without losing the emails of the old address as well as being able to continue answering these emails and all this from the new address of Gmail.

Before starting the tutorial, we will detail the practical case that we will use as an example:

  • We have 2 Gmail accounts (It also works if one of them is NOT Gmail).
  • Both accounts can have emails already received in the inbox.
  • What we want is for all emails from email account 2 to be migrated to a Gmail 1 email account. This means that in Gmail 1 email we will have access to all old emails from Gmail 2 account, as well as all new emails this Gmail account receives from now on.
  • When we reply to emails from email account 1 we can make the email address shown as sender account 2 if we want to. That is, the user who receives the email will be able to see that the email has been sent or replied to from the Gmail 2 account even if they send it from the Gmail 1 account.

That said, then we get to work to get to use a Gmail account from a new one without losing your old emails and being able to continue replying to emails as if following using the old account:

How to receive emails from an email account in your Gmail account.

– Obviously the first of all will be to have two email accounts. The requirement will be that the account we want to use must be Gmail. The account that we want to migrate may also be from Gmail or, on the contrary, from any other provider.

– Once we have the email accounts, we must log in to the one we want to stop using, which in our case we will call email account 2.

– Once inside email account 2 we will have to access the configuration and line followed by going to the section: Forwarding and Pop / IMAP Mail

– Here you will have to click on the section button Forwarding with name: Add a forwarding address.

However, this is not all, since we want that when we answer emails from email account 2 from Gmail account 1, we can do it using email address 2. For this we will have to go to Gmail account 1 and go to its Configuration.

– From here you will have to select the section: Accounts and Import.

– Locate the sub-category: “Send As: (Use Gmail to send messages from other email addresses.)”

– Click on the option: Add another email address, and add the email address 2.

Use a new Gmail account with the old data

– Now a window will open in which you will have to enter the email address that you would like to use as sender. In this case, we must enter the email address of account 2 since we want to respond from Gmail account 1 but the sender is email 2.

Note: in this window you must make sure that the box “Treat as Alias” is checked.

Import all emails from one Gmail account to another

– After adding the address, you will have to send a verification that must be done from the email account 2.

Note: This confirmation must also be done from the Gmail 1 account. That is, you will have to open the verification email received in the Gmail 1 account and confirm the new settings.

– Again from the Gmail account 1 you will have to access: Settings> Accounts and Import > Send as

– From this sub-section you will now see the possibility of marking two options. In our case, we must check the option box: You reply from the same email address from which the message was received.
